NY Times Editorial Cites Walkway as Economic Driver
In an Oct. 5 editorial entitled "The View From 1889," The New York Times praises the newly opened Walkway Over the Hudson as "the latest example of the new kinds of infrastructure -- for tourism and recreation -- that are reshaping the Hudson Valley."
The editorial goes on to cite Scenic Hudson as one of the organizations that has been promoting the economic, as well as aesthetic benefits of the Walkway project, and concludes by suggesting that the successful transformation of the old railroad bridge might inspire people to "summon the will and means to dream even bigger."
