Scenic Hudson’s groundbreaking work on wetland migration has been featured in a newly-published guide from the internationally-renowned Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS): 14 Solutions to Problems Climate Change Poses for Conservation.
This report showcases 14 innovative “real-world” solutions to a warming climate that is threatening wildlife and ecosystems worldwide. The solutions profiled include both traditional and new conservation tools applied strategically to address climate change impacts. Among those impacts are decreasing water availability, increasing risk of flooding and wildfires, rising seas levels, direct effects on species and habitats, and changing land use and human behaviors. Scenic Hudson provides solution #9, a strategy for adapting to rising sea levels by enabling the in-land migration of coastal ecosystems.
