WESTCHESTER COUNTY—Scenic Hudson and partners are hosting two dynamic events at the Kathryn W. Davis RiverWalk Center in Sleepy Hollow during September. One event provides educators with teaching resources to help them introduce fascinating aspects of the Hudson River Valley into lessons with their students. The other family-friendly happening connects people with the river and the unique story of the River Center.

Fall Resource Fair for Teachers—Sept. 20

As part of a Teaching the Hudson Valley initiative, the Beczak Environmental Education Center, Scenic Hudson and Teatown Lake Reservation will join about a dozen other groups at a resource fair at the Kathryn W. Davis RiverWalk Center on Thursday, Sept. 20, from 3-5 p.m. Teachers, scout leaders, homeschool parents and other educators will be able to check out lesson plans, field trip ideas, artifacts, in-school program offerings and network with staff with special expertise on the environment and nature of the Hudson River.

Riverfront Exploration—Sept. 29

As part of the Hudson River Valley Ramble, educators from the Beczak Environmental Education Center, Scenic Hudson and Teatown Lake Reservation will offer fun, hands-on activities for adults and children to explore natural marvels of the Hudson River. Hosted at the Kathryn W. Davis RiverWalk Center on Saturday, Sept. 29, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., the event also will share information about the history and recent renovation of the center from a former bathhouse built in the 1920s.
