Centenarian/Philanthropist Takes Her Annual Paddle
Ned Sullivan with intrepid kayaker Kathryn Wasserman Davis of Tarrytown, who turned 100 earlier this year.
On Thursday, Sept. 27, Scenic Hudson President Ned Sullivan and Kathryn Wasserman Davis launched their kayaks from Peekskill for their annual paddle to investigate some of the latest riverfront development projects.
Earlier this summer when Mrs. Davis announced a $20-million bequest to Scenic Hudson, it made headlines from Sleepy Hollow to Shanghai. Mrs. Davis said it best when announcing her gift: “In the last two centuries the Hudson Valley was fortunate to have visionaries who recognized the value of preserving the region’s landscapes. I’m delighted to do my part and hope others will take up my challenge. Scenic Hudson is making the Hudson River a safer, healthier, more exciting place to live.”
