Where in the Valley is Reed Sparling? (May 2008)
And the ANSWER is...
Scenic Hudson member Jack Gilman of Yonkers was the first to identify this photo as being at Scenic Hudson Park at Irvington in Westchester County.
Unless you're a long-time resident of this Westchester County village, you'd never know the ground now occupied by Scenic Hudson Park at Irvington was once an unsightly lumberyard. Today, this grass-covered waterfront oasis welcomes ball players, walkers and folks who just want to sit a spell, enjoy the cool breeze and admire spectacular views of the Hudson stretching from Manhattan past the Palisades to beyond the Tappan Zee Bridge. Caution: once comfortably ensconced on a bench, getting up is hard to do.
Congratulations to Jack Gilman of Yonkers for being the first to respond with the correct answer. Jack won an autographed copy of Reed Sparling's Hudson Valley Voyage: Through the Seasons, Through the Years.
Try your luck with our June challenge!
