New Staff Members Help Plan, Improve Parks
Scenic Hudson parks received a boost recently with the addition of three Land Preservation program staff members.
Jennifer Fraulo
Land Conservation Planner Jennifer Fraulo researches the conservation value of unprotected lands and analyzes stewardship, development and site design issues. Ms. Fraulo also helps deploy and use geographic information systems, or GIS. She holds a bachelor's degree in biology from Harvard College, a master's of science in environmental law from Vermont Law School and a master's of landscape design from the Conway School.
Jay Levine
With more than six years of landscaping experience, Park Development Specialist Jay Levine helps Scenic Hudson transform its properties into parks for the public to enjoy. His first project involves designing a new gateway to nationally recognized Mount Beacon. He has a bachelor's degree in biology from the State University of New York at Stonybrook, a master's in teaching from Tufts University and a master's in landscape design from the Conway School.
Sarah Charlop-Powers
Park Management Fellow Sarah Charlop-Powers is charged with improving public access to our parks and works with Public Outreach department staff to coordinate trail maintenance and volunteer events. Ms. Charlop-Powers taught outdoor recreation classes at SUNY Binghamton, where she obtained her bachelor's degree in economics and environmental studies. She also has worked for the Student Conservation Association and Hudson River.
