Our annual Spirit of the River Gala on Friday, June 11, will honor the City of Yonkers for bringing positive development to its waterfront. We are proud that our two decades of urban planning, land preservation and advocacy in this community yielded a recently completed urban village with public esplanades, townhouses and the new Beczak Environmental Education Center. We hope you will join us at this exciting celebration.
Despite such progress, sprawl development is outstripping all efforts to manage it. Unless Scenic Hudson can expand our capacity to protect farmland and open space, our vision for the valley will be just a dream.
