Transformation of Beacon Waterfront Underway
Earlier this winter, Scenic Hudson began the first phase of work to transform a former industrial site it owns on Beacon’s waterfront into a 16-acre public park. Revitalizing downtown areas by creating parks and encouraging “smart growth” near city and town centers as a key part of our campaign to "save the land that matters most."
Even though there is some temporary fencing and signs of park-construction activity, the public can still stroll along a path that leads to the waterfront and enjoy Beacon Point, a dramatic riverside art installation by sculptor George Trakas.
Details of the park improvement project and plans for the adjacent green hotel/conference center can be found in this press release.
