Any developer that comes forward with a new proposal will face citizen concerns about overcrowding:
- A development with too many units for the site.
- More units means more traffic.
Scenic Hudson sees some potential solutions
- A 750-unit development would have a density similar to the adjacent lower village.
- Existing streets can better support this level of density.
Any large-scale development on the waterfront will need to be carefully managed to avoid overcrowding.
“We're deeply concerned by the density of this project, which would increase the village population by a third.”
–Richard Plano, Sleepy Hollow resident, The Journal News, Feb. 9, 2005
