YONKERS -- Scenic Hudson Urges Citizens to Speak Out for a Better Waterfront
With the Monday, Feb. 25, deadline for public comment approaching, Scenic Hudson is working to get people to speak out about the latest Alexander Street development proposal in Yonkers.
Scenic Hudson's push for public comment on proposed Yonkers development is attracting media attention.
In a recent e-mail to our members, we invited our members to comment on the current proposal -- calling for 18 skyscrapers, from 12 to 30 stories tall -- by calling or e-mailing city elected officials.
We have also purchased some newspaper advertising in the Yonkers area inviting people to submit comments to the Yonkers Community Development Agency before the Feb. 25 deadline.
The campaign is attracting media attention as well, with an opinion piece in the Feb. 17 Westchester Journal News, a video on LoHud.com, and a page-one editorial in the Feb. 21 Westchester Times Tribune.
