Scenic Hudson Quadricentennial Events

Four's the number! Celebrate the 400th anniversary of Henry Hudson's sail -- and make your own exciting discoveries -- by enjoying FOUR fun and educational series, each offering FOUR good reasons to visit Scenic Hudson's magnificent
parks.

Series #1 -- Nature on the Run

Explore the natural wonders of Shaupeneak Ridge on Tuesdays (April 7, 14, 21, 28 at 5:30 p.m) during a series three-mile fun runs along the park's winding trails. Then come back on Sunday, May 3 at 10:15 a.m. and compete in our first ever "Spring Sprint 5K."

Series #2 -- Toddler Strolls

Let your youngsters lead the way at Poets' Walk Park on Fridays (April 3, May 1, June 5, July 3 at 9:30 a.m.). In stroller or out, these easy 1.5-mile group walks will pass through bird-filled meadows on the way to story times at a gazebo overlooking the Hudson.

Series #3 -- Unlocking Nature's Secrets

Fan out to find everything from orchids and otters to ferns and frogs during our "Mini BioBlitz" at Stockport Flats Conservation Area (Saturday, May 9, 10 a.m.)

Join Audubon New York's Larry Federman for Dragonfly Discoveries at Shaupeneak Ridge (Thursday, June 25; 1 p.m.) and try to catch these critters that fly up to 30 m.p.h.!

Series #4 -- Performances in the Parks

We'll be marking Henry Hudson's arrival with music, dance and boatloads of fun -- all taking place on the very shores he sailed past in 1609:
