Volunteer Parks Patrol

Hike the trails of your favorite park and be an ambassador for Scenic Hudson at the same time!
Parks patrol volunteers provide information to other visitors and supply Scenic Hudson rangers with valuable information about trail conditions and potential hazards. You'll also have opportunities to join staff and other volunteers in completing a variety of projects -- from building trail bridges to pulling up invasive species and replacing them with native varieties.
Duties
- Help answer visitor questions about Scenic Hudson and our parks and trails. Also, provide gentle reminders about following park rules.
- Pick up litter in parking areas and along trails.
- Remove fallen limbs from trails; do minor clearing as necessary.
- Report major problems to Scenic Hudson staff (e.g., large blowdowns, serious erosion, damaged benches, bridges or other park structures).
- Participate in trail maintenance or restoration projects with other Volunteer Stewards and Scenic Hudson staff.
