Chet Kerr

Scenic Hudson Board Member

After practicing law as a litigator in NYC for over 35 years, Chet retired as a Senior Partner from Morrison & Foerster in 2016. His practice focused on commercial litigation, complex business litigation, and regulatory enforcement on behalf of both companies and financial institutions. Kerr has particular experience in cases involving complex contractual and financial matters, insurance coverage, and product liability. 

He currently teaches, serves on several boards and uses his experience to advise organizations and teams and works on a wide array of civil rights, criminal justice and arts management issues. 

Chet serves of the boards of the Irvington Historical Society, the Greater Irvington Land Trust, Foundation to Cure Aids and the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights. He leads the Irvington Pollinator Pathway Project, is on the Steering Committee of the NYCLA Justice Center Task Force on Plea Bargaining and is an Environmental Leader with the Eco Irvington Green Policy Task Force. He gives talks locally on two subjects he’s passionate about: pollinator-friendly gardening and Irvington history. 

Chet is a graduate of the Brown University and NYU School of Law.
