As senior vice president of Scenic Hudson, Steve Rosenberg directs the organization’s programs to protect land, create parks and advocate for the region’s environmental health and quality of life, and manages relationships with key stakeholders, funders and policymakers. As executive director of the Scenic Hudson Land Trust, he has led the group in safeguarding tens of thousands of acres, creating dozens of parks and preserves, and transforming neglected urban waterfront sites into more publicly beneficial uses. Mr. Rosenberg pioneered Scenic Hudson’s strategy to conserve productive valley farms that supply New York City and the Hudson Valley with fresh, local food.
Mr. Rosenberg serves on the national Board of Directors of the Land Trust Alliance and chairs the Conservation Defense Committee. He has chaired and served on a number of other conservation-related committees and currently is a member of the Regional Plan Association's 4th Regional Plan Committee. Prior to joining Scenic Hudson in 1990, Mr. Rosenberg practiced real estate and land use law. He received his bachelor's degree from Northwestern University and J.D. from George Washington University.
