Rhythm on the Riverfront Concert Series - Pre-War Ponies

Event Date:
Thursday, August 20, 2015 -
6:00pm to 8:00pm

FOUNDRY DOCK PARK (Putnam) - Our popular summertime concerts are back. In addition to enjoying sounds spanning the musical spectrum, you’ll be treated to a spectacular sight—the magnificent Hudson Highlands. Come early and walk through our newly enhanced West Point Foundry Preserve, just a short walk away.

Pre-War Ponies

The Pre-War Ponies specialize in reviving music from the 1920s and ‘30s. Daria Grace likes to mine old recordings and sheet music to find obscure charmers that almost nobody knows like 'The Gentleman Just Wouldn't Say Goodnight', 'Pettin' In The Park' and 'Pardon My Southern Accent.' Originally from Pascagoula, MS, three time Emmy Award winning composer/trombonist/ukulele player J. Walter Hawkes has been active in New York City for almost two decades. He's played with Norah Jones, Jon Hendricks, Elvis Costello, and many others. He is now serving as musical director and lead composer for PBS' "Peg + Cat", and has also composed for "Blue's Clues," "Wonder Pets," "Third & Bird", and many other shows you have no idea about unless you have a 3 year old. http://www.prewarponies.com/

Rhythm on the Riverfront is presented by Beacon Music Factory in collaboration with Scenic Hudson. Concerts are rain or shine
