In 2008, Scenic Hudson was one of the nation’s first land trusts to be recognized for meeting the highest standards in conserving land for public benefit. This validation came from the Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance, a national land conservation organization that represents more than 1,000 member land trusts supported by more than five million members nationwide.
Land trusts must apply for reaccreditation every five years. In 2013 Scenic Hudson again received this gold seal of credibility and professionalism for our track record in protecting iconic vistas, irreplaceable habitats and family farms. Now, once again, it’s time for us to undertake this rigorous review.
As part of the process, the Land Trust Accreditation Commission welcomes public input. I’m writing to invite you to submit signed written comments that relate to how Scenic Hudson complies with national standards concerning a land trust’s ethical and technical operation.
To learn more about the accreditation program and to submit a comment, click here. Or you can send them via email (firstname.lastname@example.org), fax (518-587-3183) or mail (Land Trust Accreditation Commission, Attn: Public Comments, 36 Phila Street, Suite 2, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866). The public comment period is open until Dec. 15, 2018.
Thank you for helping us show the public that we’re still on top of our game.
