SUMMARY:Down By the River: A Hudson Valley Inspired Art Show
DESCRIPTION:Hudson River Sloop Clearwater\, in partnership with the Hudson River Maritime Museum will be holding a special visual artists event on Nov 2nd at the Kingston Homeport in Kingston NY. “Down By the River: A Hudson Valley Inspired Art Show” will run from 4 to 8pm\, featuring local visual artists whose work highlights the majestic beauty that is the Hudson River Valley. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the launch of the Clearwater and the 100th birthday of Pete Seeger. Inspire\, along with educate and activate are elemental to Clearwater’s mission\, and partnering with artists who portray the grandeur of the Hudson Valley will inspire attendees to view the estuary as a living entity\, so much more than a resource. \nThe event is part of Kingston’s First Saturday Gallery Walk. \nOther activities will include deck tours of the historic sloop replica and iconic symbol or grassroots activism\, Clearwater Additionally\, there will be a craft activity for kids\, and cider pressing. \nClearwater is calling for artists submissions. Interested artists should email their portfolio to Eli Schloss eli@clearwater.org. A portion of all sales will benefit the education programs of Clearwater. \nMore info here.
