Kwesi has a background in retail and digital commerce, helping brands define their purpose and build community. His strengths are in brand and product marketing, purpose transformation, storytelling, positioning, partnerships, and cultural insights. Currently leading his own consulting practice, Kwesi partners with companies and institutions across industries to align brand, strategy, and culture—particularly where sustainability, equity, and innovation intersect.
Most recently, Kwesi served as Global Brand Strategy Lead at Instagram, where he defined the platform’s brand expression and marketing across global markets. He previously held leadership roles at Wolff Olins and SYPartners, driving large-scale, purpose-driven transformation initiatives for clients such as CVS Health, IBM, Delta, American Express, and Deepak Chopra. Earlier in his career, he served as Head of Strategy at Robert Burke Associates, advising retail and luxury brands including Chanel, Target, Saks Fifth Avenue, Ralph Lauren, LVMH, and Nordstrom. In addition to his consultancy and agency experience, Kwesi served as COO of OXOSI, a venture-backed e-commerce platform spotlighting African fashion and culture for global audiences.
He has contributed to thought leadership featured in The New York Times, Fast Company,Bloomberg, The Washington Post, and CNN. Kwesi holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and African & African-American studies from Duke University, and a master’s in sustainability management from Columbia University, where he focused on integrating sustainable practices into business strategy. Kwesi currently sits on the Scenic Hudson Parks Committee. He has served on the boards of the Young Patrons of Lincoln Center, the West Side YMCA, and the Africa Angels Network. He and his husband, Jackson, a Literature and Arts Teacher at Essex Street Academy, and young son, Anderson, split their time between Brooklyn and Hyde Park, NY.
