Shelby is a Health Care Professional Associate Brand Manager for Listerine at Kenvue (previously Johnson & Johnson). Previously, she spent five years working on Capitol Hill, serving as Chairman Jim McGovern’s (Massachusetts, 2nd District) Health Legislative Assistant, a Health Legislative Assistant for Congressman Salud Carbajal (California, 24th District), and held roles in Senator Angus King’s Maine office and in the House Rules Committee. Prior to her legislative work, Shelby worked as the Antibiotics Program Associate for United States Public Interest Research Group (US PIRG).
Shelby is also the Treasurer of the Islands Fund, a family foundation. Their traditional focus is environmental conservation and environmental education. Their core emphasis is on land conservation, and they have worked with TNC to fund landscape-scale conservation projects in Montana and Colorado, and have funded specific land conservation deals with the Big Sur Land Trust in CA. Shelby holds an MBA from NYU, a master’s in public health from Johns Hopkins University, and a BA from Tufts University. She married Ramzy Kahhale, President of Dry Farm Wines, in October 2023. Shelby and Ramzy are based in Manhattan and recently purchased a home in Garrison, NY.
