Scenic Hudson President Ned Sullivan said: “Governor Hochul’s appointment of Kathy Moser as Acting Commissioner of the Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation adds another star to her constellation of achievements as New York’s greatest parks and conservation leader in state history.
Governor Hochul has made an unparalleled financial commitment to parks, clean water, and land conservation through the 2022 $4.2 billion Environmental Bond Act and the largest Environmental Protection Fund in state history. She has opened spectacular new parks, including Sojourner Truth State Park in Ulster County, and is now moving forward with her commitment to new swimming facilities in a quarry pond there.
Kathy Moser’s appointment will bring to the Governor’s team a seasoned, experienced, and energetic conservation leader with the exact credentials needed to advance the Hochul Administration’s agenda — to boost local and regional economies, create jobs, and open to the public the treasured natural and scenic resources of the state. With high-level experience in state government and the not-for-profit land conservation community, Kathy will further the Governor’s commitment to enhancing the efficiency of New York’s land acquisition program, effective stewardship, and partnership with communities and stakeholders throughout the state.
Scenic Hudson pledges its support for, and collaboration with, the Governor’s latest conservation dynamo — Kathy Moser.”
