Director of Northside Properties & Projects
Scenic Hudson

Caroline Alsup is leading one of the most ambitious projects in Scenic Hudson’s 60-year history. As a project manager at the environmental organization, she is involved in all aspects — from concept through construction — of the Northside Hub, an adaptive reuse of a derelict historic factory in Poughkeepsie. This venture transforms a polluted industrial site into a vibrant, carbon-neutral community resource, housing staff offices, community spaces, trail connections, and more. Across from the Walkway Over the Hudson, the project is a welcoming, inclusive gateway to the region.
Before joining Scenic Hudson, Caroline worked for five years as an architect at MASS Design Group — the lead architects on the project. There, she played a key role in projects including the National Memorial for Peace and Justice in Alabama, the first U.S. memorial to victims of lynching. Previously, as a designer at Herzog & de Meuron, she leant her talents to iconic New York City properties including the adaptive re-use of the Park Avenue Armory.
Caroline graduated magna cum laude with a professional B.Arch from Virginia Tech, where she spent a year studying with renowned architect Valerio Olgiati at the USI Accademia di Architettura in Switzerland.
