Scenic Hudson Board Member
Liz previously served on Scenic Hudson’s Board from 2010-2014 and has more than 30 years of legal and regulatory experience. She is the former Senior Vice President and General Counsel at Consolidated Edison of New York and was responsible for the day-to-day operation of the approximately 80 attorney/200 employee Law Department. She also served on the boards of its two subsidiaries, Con Edison Clean Energy Businesses, Inc. and Con Edison Transmission, Inc., a group that invests in electric and gas transmission projects. Lis left Con Ed in 2019 and currently is the Board Vice Chair at Southwest Power Pool, a regional transmission organization: a not-for-profit corporation mandated by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to ensure reliable supplies of power, adequate transmission infrastructure, and competitive wholesale electricity prices on behalf of its members. Prior to joining Con Ed in May 2009, Liz was partner at Nixon Peabody LLP and served in the administration of former New York Governor Mario Cuomo for 12 years, culminating as Counsel to the Governor from 1991 to 1994. Liz lives in Tarrytown along the Hudson River.
