Dinsmore Golf Club

Staatsburg (Dutchess County)

Why we love it

Once golf winds up and snow comes down, Dinsmore turns into a wonderland for skiing, providing unlimited opportunities for schussing over the hilly terrain while admiring expansive views of the Hudson River and Catskill Mountains. On the course’s southern half, you’ll glide across sporting history—the original nine-hole course built there in the 1890s was one of America’s oldest. Winter offers a great time to enjoy it without having to worry about your backswing.

More to explore

Staatsburg State Historic Site, just across the road, preserves the Gilded Age mansion of Ruth and Ogden Mills. Head to nearby Rhinebeck to indulge in hot chocolate (or stronger beverages).
