Snow & Tell: Photo Contest

Calling all shutterbugs! We’re looking for inspiring photos — funny, beautiful, thought-provoking, quirky — of you and yours loving the outdoor life in the Hudson Valley this winter.

Have you ever gone snowshoeing through the quiet woods and captured a friend in front of the perfect snowy landscape? What about a memorable moment while cross-country skiing on a rail trail? Or you snapped a one-of-a-kind selfie at the top of a fire tower? Whether you are ice skating or ice fishing, sledding, or skiing, the only requirement is that there are people in your pics.

 At Scenic Hudson, we’re committed to protecting the Hudson Valley’s natural beauty so that it can be enjoyed for generations to come. Our Outdoor Adventures section on our website highlights more than 100 nature-based experiences, but we know there are many more out there just waiting to be discovered.

So please, Snow & Tell! Send us your favorite action-packed moments of the season!

  3. Check to see if your photo has been selected for our Top 10 Contest Gallery where community members will vote for their favorite!

Guidelines and Details:

  1. Entries should show how you enjoyed the winter outdoors in the Hudson Valley.  Make sure to include yourself or other people in your photos!
  2. Tell us about your experience. Share the details of what made it so memorable, and don’t forget to include where it happened (e.g., Poets’ Walk Park, Red Hook, NY). 
  3. Feel free to send multiple photos, but only one photo per person will be accepted for the Top 10 voting round.
  4. Only high-resolution photos at least 800px wide or tall will be considered.
  5. Feb 18, 2024 – Entries are due.
  6. Feb 21, 2024 – Top 10 will be announced and public voting begins. The photos will be selected by a panel of Scenic Hudson staff based on composition, relevance, and overall impact.
  7. You can vote for your favorite photo from Feb 21, 2024 thru Feb 25, 2024.
  8. Feb 28, 2024 – Winner will be announced.
