Scenic Hudson’s Social Media Community Principles & Guidelines
Scenic Hudson’s online community is a place of inspiration and connection. The following principles help us ensure that our online spaces uphold our commitment to protect the Hudson Valley by cultivating positive, productive connections with those who love it.
These principles are intended to guide and support thoughtful, responsible engagement on social media. We love shared spaces like this one and actively protect it by moderating all activity, removing or hiding posts, and/or blocking users who don’t respect these principles.
Be Kind
- Don’t post anything malicious or threatening.
- If you don’t agree with something, let us know — but express your views respectfully, we promise to do the same.
- For everyone’s safety, keep all personal information private.
Be Yourself
- Don’t pretend to be someone you’re not. We like you for who you are!
- Give credit where credit’s due — don’t post others’ words or ideas as your own.
- Don’t post or engage from automated accounts. That includes you, bots!
Be Relevant
- Keep comments relevant to the initial post.
- Don’t use this online community to promote businesses or services. We love entrepreneurial spirits, but as a nonprofit org, we can’t promote for-profit ventures.
- No spamming! Don’t post repetitive, inaccurate, or misleading information.
