Scenic Hudson Board Member

Rebecca is former Vice President and General Counsel of Mark43, Inc., a developer of cloud-based essential public safety software that provides reliable, actionable information to first responders. Before Mark43, Rebecca spent nine years at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP and has experience advising a variety of corporate clients in transactional and litigation matters. Rebecca and her husband, Jared Cohen, joined by their friend, Ceci Kurzman and other like-minded preservationists, have undertaken a project intended to restore and preserve Astor Courts on the Hudson River in Rhinebeck, Dutchess County. Designed by Stanford White, Astor Courts was commissioned by John Jacob Astor IV as a sporting pavilion with an indoor swimming pool and tennis courts for the many notable people who visited the Astor estate. Jared and Rebecca are enjoying Astor Courts as their Hudson Valley weekend retreat and are in the process of assessing what additional uses the space and property can afford, such as assisting organizations like Scenic Hudson. Rebecca received her B.A. degree from the University of Pennsylvania and her J.D. from UCLA School of Law, where she served as managing editor of the UCLA Law Review. Rebecca and Jared have three young children, Annabel Garfield, Zelda and Ingrid Rose.
