Little Stony Point

Cold Spring (Putnam County)

Why we love it

If you’re looking for a great Hudson River view that requires very little effort, this will fit the bill. A short hike to the top of Little Stony Point affords a great wrap-around vista of the Hudson River, with the Highlands to your north and West Point to the south. You also can take a 1-mile loop trail to the river’s edge and laze on a sandy beach, as well as explore remnants of the area’s mining history, including an old mine shaft burrowed into the point’s rocky face.

More to explore
