Although North-South Lake ranks as the most popular campground in the Catskills, its two beaches rarely attract big crowds, so you should have ample space to spread your blanket and help the kids build a sand castle. But what makes this place really special is the opportunity to take a refreshing dip after enjoying a hike to spectacular overlooks of the Hudson Valley, including the site of the famed Catskill Mountain House.
